Provides advice and an overview of tools for measuring soft outcomes relating to young people participating in after school clubs. The focus is on assessing skills that make students ‘college and career’ ready, particularly those relating to thinking and skills.

The guide summarises and assesses eight tools: the California Health Kids Survey Resilience & Youth Development Module; the Development Assets Profile; the Devereux Student Strengths Assessment; the San Francisco Beacons Youth Survey; the Survey of After-School Youth Outcomes; the Social Skills Improvement System Rating Scales; the Youth Outcomes Battery; and the Youth Outcome Measures Online Toolbox.

Tools are summarised in terms of their quality as well as their content.
