Child abuse potential inventory

This is a screening tool for detection of physical child abuse. It is given to the parent/carer who is suspected of child abuse. there are six factor scales: Distress, Rigidity, Unhappiness, Problems With Child and Self, Problems With Family, and Problems With Others. Respondents are asked to agree or disagree with each of 160 items.

A manual is available that includes information about administration, scoring, and interpretation procedures; an Interpretive Manual for the Child Abuse Potential Inventory provides additional information for interpretation of the CAPI, including applications, limitations, scale descriptions, and references
