Mapping outcomes for social investment

Published21st January 2014

Social investment presents the promise of financial returns combined with social impact. Despite these benefits, this area lacks standardised and well-accepted ways of measuring returns. This document is designed to aid social investors and potential investees.

This resource provides a number of tools for social investors and investees, including: An outcomes matrix, which segments outcomes within the social welfare and environment arenas into 13 outcome areas; outcomes maps, which drill into the detail of the outcomes matrix, providing overviews of the key outcomes, indicators and data sources commonly used in each of the 13 areas; and guidance on investor best practice.

Training is also available on social investment and impact measurement.
