Education and Skills Survey

Published3rd June 2014

Surveys are conducted and published annually to collect the views of employers. The 2013 survey was completed by 566 employers (employing 2.2 million people collectively) from a range of sectors and business sizes.

The survey collects data on: company profile (sector, size and geography); plans and views regarding employee skill levels; views on priorities for education and schools; workforce skills; delivery of training; apprenticeships; universities and graduates.

The results are collated and analysed by the CBI in a yearly narrative report, picking out trends over time and noteworthy results.

The CBI is also a membership organisation, giving its members access advice, networking, events, leadership programmes, and a voice in advocacy. (see
