Surveys are conducted and published annually to collect the views of employers. The 2013 survey was completed by 566 employers (employing 2.2 million people collectively) from a range of sectors and business sizes.
The survey collects data on: company profile (sector, size and geography); plans and views regarding employee skill levels; views on priorities for education and schools; workforce skills; delivery of training; apprenticeships; universities and graduates.
The results are collated and analysed by the CBI in a yearly narrative report, picking out trends over time and noteworthy results.
The CBI is also a membership organisation, giving its members access advice, networking, events, leadership programmes, and a voice in advocacy. (see www.cbi.org.uk/membership).
