Community Life Survey

Published3rd June 2014

This survey covers trends relating to: volunteering and charitable giving; views about the local area; community cohesion and belonging; community empowerment and participation; influencing subjective decisions and affairs; and subjective well-being.

Data related to nine specific areas: trust, belonging, neighbourliness, satisfaction with area, cohesion, civic consultation, influencing decisions, volunteering, and giving.

Data was collected through face-to-face interviews with 6,600 interviewees (in the year 2012-13).

Some, though not all, data is comparable to the Citizenship Survey (now ceased), which provides data over a longer period.

The data and reports are accompanied by an in-depth technical report outlining methodology and analysis.
