Blog: Call for tools

Published:31st July 2012

As part of Inspiring Impact‘s data, tools and systems strand we are inviting you to share your thoughts on the impact measurement tools you think are important for the non profit sector.

We would like to know what impact measurement tools you currently use, and what kind of tools you’d like to use or know that others use. Substance, who are leading this strand of our work, are collecting your views via a form on their website.

We are interested in tools that help to:

  • Gather and manage performance data
  • Tell a story about organisations’ work
  • Measure the social impact of service or sector provision
  • Measure the economic or social value of service or sector provision
  • Benchmark performance within an organisation or across a sector

We are particularly interested in tools that are currently available online or which have the potential to be made available online.

Regardless of whether you are a supplier, funder, user or have some other relationship to the tools you are describing, you can tell us about them here. You can submit as many responses as you like.

We will use the information we collect to help build a catalogue of tools which we hope to present in an online impact measurement marketplace, to be developed during the second year of the Inspiring Impact programme. Substance will carry out further consultation to gain a more detailed understanding of these tools in the Autumn, before considering how to make them more accessible to the sector.

If you would like any further information on the call for tools please contact Substance at
